Ok, il give you some lowdown on how i've been having my meals here in New Zealand since day one. First, we (guys fifi, red, me and girls hana, laili, noha, zuria) all go out and buy the groceries at the local mart. We usually buy enough for a week or two. Next, the others (usually girls), go and cook the meals. Finally, after some waiting in my cozy 3rd floor room, I am summoned, I go down to their room on the ground floor and eat the meals. That's basically how it's been going on for a few weeks now. All i do is eat the food, and belah. And sometimes when i feel like it, i wash the dishes, but thats only when i feel like it. The thing is, i hardly ever cook. In fact, i never cook. So apparently, after cooking for days and nights, the others have had enough and want a sabbatical. Hence, the others demanded that i don't just sit on my lazy butt and eat all the time, and actually COOK something for once. So they gave me till saturday to come up with something or il have to face the consequences. So i basically had a little more than 24 hours to learn to cook Nasi Ayam (i'm not sure who suggested this, but that's what everyone agreed i would cook). So, here's the surprise, not only have i never cooked Nasi Ayam before, i have never actually COOKED before (surprise, surprise). Kak yusma and kak hani helped by giving me the website to all the Malaysian recipes. On that site, everything looked Greek to me. I didn't get a single thing. I mean, how am i supposed to "tumbuk sampai mayang" if i don't even know what "mayang" means. Gimme a break! So, as frantic as i was, i made the internet call of the millennium and phoned Ummi (mom). She told me the basics and what i had to do. Then after 15 minutes, she told me the basics and what i had to do, again! Jotting down Ummi's secret recipe on pen and paper for over an hour, finally she said she has to go and that she had told me everything i have to know, and that the rest just comes from experience. So the next day, after asking kak nadia to help buy the ingredients, into the kitchen i went. Today, i give you Nasi Ayam LSG:
Presto, again!
