I used to hate Chelsea FC not because of their players but mainly because of Mourinho. Now 5 months after the appointment of Avraham Grant, I'll have to admit, I do miss the "special one" a tad bit. I used to enjoy hating him; it was one of my guilty pleasures. I mean, whats there not to hate? He's cocky, foul-mouthed (called Wenger a voyeur), big-headed (he friggin' calls himself special!) and ill-humored. In a nutshell, he's the perfect grouch. But now, the guy at the head of the Blue's helm is an Isreali holocaust survivor. I'm hating this guy more than I could have ever hated Jose, which is supposed to be a good thing, but it isn't; I'm simply hating him for the wrong reasons. What's more is that he is a personal friend of Roman Abramovich. I begin to question Mr. Abramovich's credibility for shortlisting Mr. Grant.

Managers aside, Chelsea FC is a very formidable team in my humble opinion. Even more so after the acquisition of Nicolas Anelka during the January transfer window. I personally like a handful of their players including Sheva, Drogba, Anelka, Ballack, Terry and Lampard. I remember back in the old days when Chelsea wasn't a strong title contender; they were like what Portsmouth is now. It just shows they have come a long way since then.

Chelsea is now in a league of it's own; miles behind Arsenal and Man Utd, yet still just out of reach of Liverpool. That said, it's nice watching the Gunners having to play catch-up with the Devils. It makes football interesting. As for the Reds, all I can say is good luck Rafa.

  1. Sheva? Ballack? Whattt???

I beg your pardon, but I think the only time these two have ever played heroes in the past 2 seasons was against Aston Villa.

And if you had watched Liv v Luton Town's replay, you would know who the fans still stick with. We don't play betrayal games just because the media is especially brutal when it comes to the Reds. It doesn't work that way at Anfield.

  2. Alamak, I knew it would come to this. Yes, sheva, ballack, etc, etc.

I have liked these players LONG before their move to Chelsea la. I like them as professional footballers. Not due to so-called single-stroke-of-luck heroism at Chelsea.

BTW, I did tell you before that I admire Gerrard's leadership qualities too.

  3. We think Chelsea are miles away from the top, but in reality, look at the table bro, only 4 points adrift, hardly miles.

We need to quit dropping silly points. To think we only lost once, but still have the same points as the Setans.

From your list, only Lamps, JT and nicolas for me, wasn't much of a Sheva and Ballack fan
