I was going to comment on the Arsenal vs Liverpool game, but Shah had beaten me to it. So instead I decided to promote Improv Everywhere's KL Freeze in Unison:
KL Freeze in Unison. 2.30pm. Sunday 13th April.
Where human beings get together to do something in unison, without speeches or reference to their age, colour, sex, beliefs and background.
They did it in London. Also in New York City.
And we’re doing it in the heart of Kuala Lumpur!
*Latest update on Facebook. 504 Attending, 1047 Maybe Attending, 7676 Awaiting Reply.
Organised by RandomAlphabets.com and 3 Facebook groups
1. United Colours of Malaysia - The 1+2 Campaign
2. Improv Malaysia
3. Malaysia: Travel Affairs
Freeze is a ’mission’ introduced by Improv Everywhere. Those participating will go to a certain location (Freeze Point) and freeze for a few minutes. Just like in the YouTube videos. That is all you do.
If you don’t understand that, then I hope you are not a registered voter.
We will meet at our Gathering Point 2.30pm (a location near our Freeze Point) for time synchronization and a quick briefing. Because this rooted from an international movement, you have to be punctual. Seriously.
Location for our Gathering Point will be revealed at 11pm on 11th April. It will be revealed on this event page, http://RandomAlphabets.com/ and private message only to those Attending and Maybe Attending.
It has to remain a secret till then. Has to. Or all will fail and the Ring won’t make it to Mordor.
Don’t worry. It will be a place conveniently accessible by public transport. Bus, train, taxi and penyapu terbang.
Here's the video from NYC's Grand Central Station:
Signed, sealed, delivered.
I'm just wondering where the Freeze Point will be.
ReplyDeleteI put $50 bucks on KL Sentral or KLCC.
i see ur 50 bucks and raise another 50 it will be at pavillion haha
ReplyDeleteThank you for you that. I appreciate it. :)
ReplyDeleteBollocks.

ReplyDeleteHey, Abang Lutfi, where do I sign up?
ReplyDeleteKalau kat KL snatch thief amik kesempatan. RM150 kat OU. Dollar tak main la..
ReplyDeleteI've sent a representative for this sunday since i cn't go obviously.
ReplyDeleteI think it's gonna be in KL Sentral. Sgt Kl sentral. cn't wait to watch the video!!!
sgt cool la lutfi!
Shah, you win. Pavillion.
ReplyDeleteSomething wrong with the KL Freeze IMO. Tak best langsung. Too many ppl who attended the freeze weren't participants and instead dtg nak amik gambar. Seriously spoils the "OMG-WTH-is-going-on" mood for those who didnt know.
THAT was what we wanted to capture. Expressions of the ppl who didnt know, not the people who were frozen! I have myself to blame for letting the secret out. Looks like the ring didn't make it to Mordor. KL Freeze a real letdown. I blame all the non-participating attendees.
haha, guessed right....
ReplyDeleteok lah....i expected the people who were there just to take pictures...but not bad ah the poses...albneit some very the poyo...haha
owh lsg. awek cam matsalleh kurus tinggi awal2...awek aku chop toit....that is if kau tgk the same video ah...haha
Hey there Lubna's brother. Salam.

It wasn't as bad as you think. The objective was, for people of different race, gender, and age to do something in unison and the objective was reached, so there ;).
It doesn't really matter because it was obvious from the start anyway! (Pavillion never had that many people, lol --and on just one floor , heh. People have started loitering even before the said time).
In fact the 'expressions' were obviously seen in lot10 which was the gathering point when the guards and shopkeepers were perplexed by our acts. Haha :D
So yes, it wasn't as bad as you think. In fact, for me, it was euphoric.
and perhaps all of us should learn to view the glass as half full, not half empty :)
ReplyDeletecheers.
Hey there Lubna's friend. Salam.
ReplyDeleteI take it that you participated in the event, no? I sincerely apologize if I offended you, or anybody else (especially Zain HD) for that matter. That was not my intention. Kudos to all who took part, it wasn't an easy feat to pull off!
I too believe all the objectives were met, and for that, double thumbs up! It goes to show how powerful and influential the internet has become. One can't even begin to imagine what smart masses are capable of in future.
However, that does not change my perspective that the KL Freeze lacked the "coolness" factor that were apparent in the previous Freezes. IMHO, it was big but it was riddled with flaws. I am not the only person who thinks so either.
Maybe my expectations were a tad high for KL's adaptation and to me, thats what it fell short of.
reedean: nak video! bagi URL!!!!1111!!oneoneeleven!!

ReplyDelete1:42...awek aku choptoit..haha
SHAH, AKU NAMPAK DULU! Dia mcm Caucasian.
ReplyDeleteEngineers don't view the cup as half full nor half empty. To us, the cup is twice as big as it needs to be.
ReplyDeletecheers :D
Must keep in mind that when the Freeze reached KL, a large number of people have already heard of it or have gotten familiar with the notion, as oppose to NY or London. Because it's all an international 'movement'. If we had picked it up months ago, it would indeed have a diff effect.
ReplyDeleteI take my hat off to Jannah for not forgetting the tag/objective of the event. I don't expect all to notice but it's brilliant that someone did and reiterated it.
I somehow don't see it as a half full half empty. I see it as the teh tarik can be kurang manis, or tak cukup manis.
Fyi, the Official Vid for KL Freeze in Unison is out. This vid, encapsulates the whole thing.
